Jaipur's old city neighbourhoods operate on a logic that nobody designed. The kiryana shop is three lanes from the house, the tailor who has been stitching for the same family for twenty years, the accountant whose office is above the general stores, the doctor whose clinic is around the corner from the school. These things are near each other not because a planner put them near each other but because proximity is economically sensible for both the business and the person using it. Nobody drives across town for a daily errand if they can walk to the same errand in ten minutes. The businesses that understood this and located accordingly have operated at a steady occupancy for decades.
